Jaipur sightseeing tour by Auto Rickshaw (Tuk Tuk) is very enjoyable and entertaining for visitors who come from all over the world, Because this route makes it convenient from crowded areas of Jaipur, Auto Rickshaw (Tuk Tuk) is a very cheap and convenient way to travel around the city.
What this tour is about: This is a walking tour which covers the major must-see attractions inside the Walled City (The Pink City) of Jaipur. We will also use a cycle rickshaw for some part of the tour.
Background: In 1727, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II built a new fortified city. It was enclosed by walls and could be entered through a group of seven manned gates. The walled city was unique, because it was a planned city built on traditional Indian shastric principles. It was logically divided into nine blocks. The largest block contained the palace and emperor’s royal buildings, while the other blocks were for the public, with residential areas, bazaars and temples.
About the walk: This tour takes you on a walking exploration of the walled city. We will start outside the city, at the Albert Hall Museum, and take a rickshaw ride from there to enter the city through one of its pink gates. Once inside the city, we will walk along Chaura Rasta, seeing the various buildings, shops, residences, side-streets and temples along the road. We will see the famous Hawa Mahal and the arched Tripolia Gate. We will visit the Observatory (Jantar Mantar) and the City Palace Museum in the royal block. The tour ends at the City Palace (there is a pretty café here, serving snacks and refreshments, if you would like to rest a bit).
