Day 02 : Delhi
Morning, post breakfast proceed on a journey to tour New Delhi. You can visit sights such as, Humayun’s Tomb, the Qutub Minar which is a 72 meters high and one of the most perfect towers in the Persian world. After visiting these historical monuments, continue with a drive through Embassy area, the Government buildings and Connaught Place, the heart and main shopping district of the capital. On the way you can also visit India Gate. Later in the day, cross the city and into the walled gates of the Old city by visiting the Jamma Masjid. You can also drive through the fabled area of Chandni Chowk for a shopping expedition. In the evening you can go for a light and sound show at the Akshardham Temple. Day 03 : Delhi – Agra
After having a wholesome breakfast, start your road trip from Delhi to this marble epic center Agra. After having reached Agra, check in to your hotel and fresh up for a tour to Agra Fort. The elegant buildings on the inside of the Agra Fort reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. Built by Emperor Akbar, the maze of the courtyards, mosques & private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire. In the evening you can go for a stroll at the Mehtab Bagh which is a moonlight garden which was an extension of the Taj Mahal Garden – on the other side of the river. Day 04 : Agra
This morning, start your day with a delicious buffet arranged for you at the hotel. Start your Agra expedition by visiting the UNESCO approved site, the Taj Mahal. The crown jewel of all Indian architecture, Taj Mahal, is a refined marble mausoleum, famous for its carvings, structural beauty and use of semi-precious stones in construction. When at the Taj Mahal you can visit its museum where you can find coins, ancient wares, paintings and more. Walk around the geometric garden for the Taj Mahal. Later in the day you can visit another signature of Mughal Empire, the abandoned capital city, Fatehpur Sikhri. It was built with every detail of luxury and architectural marvel. Day 05 : Agra – Jaipur
After Agra, the tour will take you towards the western end of the country, the desert region, Jaipur. Post your breakfast, start for your journey to Jaipur. After entering the city of forts, check in at the hotel and get refreshed. After having your lunch, you can go around to visit the Amber fort, Nahargarh Fort and Shri Jagatshironmani temple. Day 06 : Jaipur
This morning you start your tour from the City Palace and can make a heritage walking tour out of just palaces and forts. The rugged landscape of Aravalli hills with a slight splash of desert outlook, gives a grandeur look to this destination. You can visit the Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, temple of Govind Dev Ji, Nahargarh Fort and the Jaigarh Fort. In the evening, you can go around and visit the local market to buy some souvenirs. Day 07 : Jaipur Literary Festival
This morning, post breakfast, head straight to attend the biggest literary festival. The Jaipur Literary festival was founded in 2006, and is an annual literary festival which takes place in the pink city of India, Jaipur each year in the month of January. The festival provides a platform for international authors and Indian language authors from the subcontinent to engage in a literary dialogue. The festival has an approximate attendance of nearly 100,000 annually. This festival also draws hordes of audience and guests from over the world to attend this 5-day event, which usually takes place in the third week of January. Each year, participants from Nobel laureates to local writers and from Man Booker Prize winners to debutant novelists engage into readings, debates, discussions along with the audience at the elegant Diggi Palace. If you’re keen on meeting and socializing with authors and other important people, this is the place for you. In the evening you can enjoy the nightly music event. After being done having a geeky day, head back to your hotel in Jaipur for an overnight stay.
Day 08 : Jaipur – Delhi
Today after breakfast, you’ll head for Delhi. After reaching Delhi check in to your hotel and go for a stroll around the markets and go for a last-minute shop. Later on, you will be transferred to Indira Gandhi International Airport and catch a flight for your onwards journey.
