Kota is the industrial hub of Rajasthan & has an atomic power plant. It is situated on the banks of Chambal river & famous for its fort & dams. Kota, the historical city was founded in 12th century, now is well known as the industrial capital of Rajasthan. It is rapidly emerging as an important industrial centre. Jag Madir – Kishor Sagar : This beautiful red-stone palace has a wonderful view of the man-made lake called Kishore Sagar. It was built in 1346 A.D. by the Prince of Bundi.
Chambal Garden : A brilliantly designed garden at the Amar Niwas. Its lush surroundings make it a popular picnic spot offering enjoyable boat rides. This beautiful garden also houses crocodiles.
Brij Vilas Palace Museum : This government museum is located near Kishore Sagar, it houses old coins, stone idols etc.
Maharao Madho Singh Museum : Located in the old palace, the museum houses wonderful collectibles of Rajput miniature paintings of the Kota school, exquisite sculptures, frescoes and armory.
The Government Museum : The museum houses a rare collection of manuscripts, coins and figures of Hadoti sculptures.
Kota Barrage : A part of the irrigation canal system on the Chambal River, this beautiful setting is ideal for outings and evening strolls.

Railways : Kota railway station is located at the extreme northern end of the town. As Kota is on the main Delhi Mumbai railway line via Sawai Madhopur, a number of trains pass through and halt here.
Roadways : The main bus station in Kota is located on Bundi Road near the eastern bank of the Chambal River. There is a good bus service from Kota to Ajmer (201 km) , Chittorgarh (200 km), Jaipur (242 km), Udaipur (374 km), Jodhpur (379 km) and Bikaner (434 km).
