Bagore Ki Haveli is a grand palace located in the Gangaur Ghat road of Udaipur. It was built in the eighteenth century on the banks of Lake Pichola by Amar Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of the Mewar Kingdom. The havelis consisting of over a hundred rooms are adorned with mirrors and glass works. The Queen’s Room is the most popular here. Two beautiful glass, peacock, and mirror sculptures are seen in it. Presently the renovated haveli has been converted into a museum.
Due to this it has become a major destination not only for regular tourists but also for history buffs and culture seekers. The main attraction of the haveli is the popular heritage dance show. History of Bagore Ki Haveli
The Bagore ki Haveli was built by Shri Amarchand Badwa, who served as the Prime Minister of the Mewar Kingdom from 1751 to 1778. After the death of Amarchand Barwa the haveli came under the possession of the Mewar royal family and became the residence of Nath Singh, a relative of Maharana. The haveli was expanded in 1878 by Maharaja Shakti Singh of Bagore by building a triple-arched gateway. Since then it is famous as Haveli.
Till 1947, the haveli remained in the possession of the Mewar State. After the independence of India the haveli was used by the Government of Rajasthan for housing government employees. The haveli remained neglected for almost forty years and later in 1986 the government decided to entrust the restoration work to the West Zone Cultural Centre. Which is standing in the present time telling its story.
